Default Can lambda be tested with multimeter?

as title says can you test a lambda with a multimeter to see if its working correctly? im trying to find out why my car seems to be over fueling and revs are sticking everytime i change gear or rev the engine, ive tried pretty much every other sensor. thanks

If you wanna see what its reading then grab your multimeter, there should be 4 wires on the green sensor, its the far right end one depending which way up the connector is, I think its a cream or white colour and is next to pink iirc, put the positive probe to that and the negative to battery negative...you will get the reading fluctuating between 0 and 1v...so like anywhere in between, probably around 0.4 -0.8v, approv 0.45v on idle if your car isn't running lean or rich I think.

Just been out and gave that a quick try I put the positive lead on the white wire on the lambda and negative on the battery neg, didn't get any reading off it at all, does that mean my lambda is dead or have I done something wrong lol

Hmm, did you leave the connector plugged in as it needs to be connected? I found the best way is where the wires go into the plug, theres rubber around them to seal, i stucka pin through that till it touched wire, then touched the probe to that...

Theres two white wires I think, it needs to be the one thats on the end not one of the middle ones, i think its next to the pink wire. Also did you have the engine running at the time? Make sure the engines warmed up for a few mins first as well.

I used the car loom side of the plug mate? That sounds like you've got the wrong wire because 13.7 sounds like your 12v input plus the fact the engine running means it will be above 12 due to alternator powering it, and the fact its minus sounds like its the wrong wire and is the negative of a circuit you've connected your positive probe to.

Connect it to the car loom side of the plug, not the plug from the sensor, as i say its one of the end ones on my VTR, youll find it if you try them all anyway it should be between 0 and 1 v on idle.
