Vtr are alloys.. Can't weld steel to alloy, can't weld alloy because its weak. You would have to get them made into splits. Search for 205 gti 3peice wheels

guessing you mean 205Dimma split not gti.

And Qube alloys used to band alloys as you can do it iirc some companies in europe do it but its not cheap and only certain alloys can be done

you can weld alloy.

but as said, very expensive.

how do you think wheel refurbishers repair massive chuncks missing from rims?

they alloy weld it then cut it back and smooth it out before re-painting/powdercoating.

it could be done, but has the potential to look dog shit.

banded steelies or normal VTR's. Not sure mixing the two would look good. Like making a dinner plate into a bowl

Would look awful.

The normal process is to cut the lip off the steel wheel, then weld in a band between the barrell and dish to extend the lip out.

Obviously you need a lip in the first place for this to work, and the Vtr wheels dont really have this.

missing the point completely, banding isnt always to add dish it can just be to make a wheel wider which in this case would be the outcome

Can be done and has been done to make them wider. Who ever said aluminium welding is weak has no clue a inch of good aluminium weld can hold 2 tonne of weight. Unfortunately there is no way to band them so they look dished.
