what year is your car? does it have square headlights or round headlights?
if you have square headlights its a mk1 car. mk2 if the headlights are round.

if you have a mk1 car you need a non-tapered driveshaft.
if you have a mk2 car you need a tapered driveshaft.

this link will show you the difference between a tapered and non-tapered driveshaft.

http://www.106owners.co.uk/forums/sh...veshafts/page2

if that doesnt work just copy nad paste it...

if you notice another difference is that the sizes of the driveshaft nut at the top of the shafts are noticably different.

if you are still unsure of what driveshaft you have in your car, just take one the front wheels off and check the size of the nut,

also chack the length of the thread aswell.

hope this all helps
