dyno print outs
looking through the history of my car i found another dyno print out from the owner which quotes 157bhp but i have another which is in the mid 140's they was both on the same day from dastek (westec performance) dunno who they are lol... i dunno which one to believe
the cars spec:
Full piper exhurst system with magnax backbox
sports cat
4-2-1which has been heat wrapped
pipercross panel filter
ph3 cams
remapped
peugeot 306 gti6 front and rear disc brakes
20mm hubsentric spacers front and rear
toyo proxes
lowered 50mm all round on apex shocks and spax springs
would you really be able to get 157bhp just from them mods?
the car has only done 47,000 miles too

its probably been cammed, then taken into a dastek dealer, or someone with dastek rollers for a remap and cam timing, this will be your second result
it will probs be less then the result you got, but somewhere near

You could throw some bodies on there mate, seeing as its got most n/a mods. That would give you a nice power gain also.
I'd think that would make 156 mate, good power if it does

Haha yes mate it does. Yea having the bug does make our wallet alot lighter.
I'm after the 200bhp barrier, so I'm changing my fueling to standalone if i can.
It's not about raw power though, I'm currently trying to improve how it drives/looks/feels.
I bet your 106 shifts though?

Im not trying to brag saying wow look at the power my car has, i want your input as to tell me if its possible from them mods and if its worth getting it dyno'd again to see if these claims are true...

No George, I don't think you're lying mate or the previous owner. I just think the dyno operators are generally full of shit, country wide. There's a select few who speak the truth, but they ALL want you to go away happy so you come back again the next time. The easiest way to do that is to fudge the numbers so it looks like the work they did has paid off...
For example, I took my (otherwise standard) gti to PTS in Luton about 7 years ago now (renown for being full of shit, but I didn't know that at the time) - with an exhaust and airfilter it made 143bhp...
As you're in Ashford, you're only about 45 minutes away from a dyno I trust explicitly - www.tracknroad.com . It's known as a heartbreaker dyno as if you've been bamboozled previously, prepare to cry as they speeketh the truth

i'll take it up there, all i want is real figures tbh if it comes back with around 140ish give or take i'll be happy...
At the end of the day its not me thats paid for the cams and other mods so wont break my heart the car still pulls very very well so im happy plus the whole point of a vts is that it handles great.. thanks for the link though mate!

nah they do all the mapping on my car - sound lads. Deal with all sorts of stuff from 35bhp 1 litre mini's to 800bhp monsters.
Power runs are generally about £50 ish.
The best thing to do (with any dyno really) is to pick one and stay with it - then you can see improvements. But get an accurate base figure to start with.
Phone Steve Greenald - 07774 773824 - tell him you got his number from me, and he'll sort you out for sure. They're busy down there so expect it to be a week or so before they can fit it in even for a power run.
Enjoy.

well if you give me a heads up (drop me a PM) I'll pop down and meet you - I'm down Steve's a few times a month normally. Got my engine to drop round there in the next couple of weeks myself actually.
