Unhappy Are these vernier pulleys worth getting?

Hi, i've recently had some 708s put on my mk2 VTS. Until now, i had replaced the exhaust/induction kit myself (because it was easy to do) but i was charged £300 to fit the cams which seemed dear, (did not want to attempt this) as well as being told the timing needed doing.
Anyways, the car now runs lumpy & i would appreciate it if someone who knew what they were talking about could tell me if it was worth buying these before i go for a remap... (remember, i'll have to pay for fitment/timing with these)

Finally, ill ask if anyone can tell me whats the best remap as i've been considering either a Predator (single plug-early 2000) or going to Chipwizards and i'm telling myself surely Predator as its extra parts for not much more money?

No need really - the standard VTS cam pulleys are adjustable. I'd personally make a couple of holes in the outer cam belt cover to expose the pulleys (the cover already has the outline for them, just need to find a suitable size holesaw), or remove the cover all together until it's mapped. If you don't, you'll probably find the mapper won't bother adjusting the timing.

As for your second question, the Predator is a good shout if you plan on taking the car further in future. I'm not convinced road mapping is the way to go though, so I'd personally hunt for a reputable tuner in your area who has rolling road facilities and can map a Megasquirt based ECU.

Chipwizards seem to do a good job of mapping the single plug ECUs, but you have to ask yourself whether it's worth mapping an old ECU that could die in future. IIRC, Chipwizards charge the full mapping fee again for any changes to the map or mapping another ECU if/ when yours dies.
