rotarys dont really compare to a pc, they arent half as safe in a newbies hands

if your prepared to read up about rotarys and maybe practice on a old banger or scrap panels then it might be for you.

A proper PC is orbital.

Correct me if im wrong Rich

Aye, rotaries are a whole different ball game to dual action units - they do more work and can give better results in the right hands, but in the wrong hands they can do serious damage. I've been detailing seriously for 18 months and feel I'm only just ready to start practicing with a rotary. There are a lot of good threads on www.detailingworld.co.uk that give tips about using them safely, so do your homework first and then put in a lot of practice on old panels before moving onto your pride and joy.

thanks for that mate, I tried it on a old rear quater for saxo, that had been covered in thinners, over spray, 2yrs of lying about in back yard, and to be truthfull I was amazed how it had brought it up, used g33 rubbing compuond first, washed and dryed, then paint restor, polish
after I did these I was quite happy with the results, I might not of done it proply, but I will read up on the link you posted.
I have used one before, but this was only for cutting, and it was at a taxi firm, but been doing minor paint respray and working on mine for a couple of years
