Just purchased a totally standard 02 plate saxo VTR got a great deal on it.
also have a Mazda MX5.

Hey there fellow lincs member. I think they are best left alone body wise, there soesnt seem to be massive scope engine tuning wise beyond breathing mods. But fitting a turbo gives massive gains. Although its not cheap.
It all depends on what you want from it and how much your prepared to spend.

ye i quite like the body of them so i dont think im going to change that, I am thinking about spraying the alloys black, dont think i will be doing much performance wise due to insurance, i may change the exhaust at some stage in the future and put an induction kit on but thats all, most of the mods im wanting to do are interior
