Default Engine fan

Ok, so I've just got driven back from a friends house, only about a mile or so away, pulled up outside my house and sat with my engine running whilst I had a smoke, during having a smoke the engine fan came on whilst I had the car idling (Car idle's a little strange anyway). So I shut the engine off and gave it a few mins to cool, switched her back on, opened up the bonnet and within another couple of mins the fan came back on. There's a hot dry smell (only way I can describe it) coming from my engine too. Don't know whether I'm just being paranoid and thinking there is a problem cause I don't know a great deal about mechanics or whatever?

Anyone clear my querie?

Yeah? awesome. It's just that it only comes on ever so rarely that when it comes on twice in a row, I get wondering. Probably should bleed + change my coolant at some point soon too.

the engine wont cool very much in just a few minutes, so the fan would kick in again anyway cos it hasnt cooled. Dont worry about it mate
