Default any idea whats wrong!?

right the other day i was asked to drive to pick up some stuff for work so i drove the 15 mile round trip quite fast mostly on fast roads but on the way back i noticed a kind of grinding sound and now it seems to happen all the time. so the problems that have developed are when im accelerating even really soft or hard it seems to make a kind of constant squeaking sound and when i come off the accelerator there seems to be a sort of grinding (doesn't sound metal on metal though) the squeaking also gets worse and louder when turning right, my old man seems to think the grinding is the engine struggleing for air and the squaking is air passing over holes in the intake pipe etc because the standard airbox and cold air feed i have is rotten and has worn away in some parts, does anybody have a clue? driveshafts? as its when im turning ... also the car feels exactly the same to drive and there is no change in performance etc just these sounds have developed, any help is aprecciated guys

As above it sounds like the drivers side driveshaft or wheel bearing has gone

The airbox is a separate issue but get it sorted.

Wouldn't be the engine if its fine revving it parked up either.

Probably the wheel bearing and/or hub but could also be driveshaft as mentioned.

However, if its definitely the driver's side (which side is it?) it could also be the driveshaft intermediate bearing.

To see if its the wheel bearing (it should have lots of play if its as bad as you describe) jack the car up securely handbraked and chocked, then hold the offending wheel at 12 and 6 o clock and see if you can rock it, if not, also get a large bar/pole/crowbar under it and see if theres any play/movement when you lever it
