Default Custom turbo exhaust

Looking at whats needed to get a system made up,

2.5" stainless pipe but unsure how many metres needed?
Looking at getting this-
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-5-inch-6...item4a9e902c52

Silencer but what size, lenght to buy? Where from?

Rear box-
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-5-Stainl...item20b43fec64

Or get a tip welded onto the system like this but unsure how loud it would be without the silencer on most backboxes-

why not just buy a race system made for the car?

might need modding to fit turbo manifold ect but would surely be cheaper than building a custom one.

Well why don't you just let them sort it out? I doubt they'd be making much money on the material itself.. Then you don't have to worry about it

Just go straight to a custom exhaust place. Ultimately they should only charge the same as any other Saxo system, the pipe diameter shouldn't increase the price any.

Will they do 2.5" systems though as i thought they may only do the basic size system like 2" or 2.25" but i was quoted £100 with supplying my own backbox. That is why i was going to get a silencer mid way in the system and maybe just get a tip on the end similar to how you have done yours danny.

They should have all sorts of diameters if there any good, my mate had a 4" diamiter turbo back one made for his skyline. Alternatively, buy a second hand btb?

Of course they will.

They won't just make systems for saxo's and alot of larger engined cars use more than 2/2.25"

any good exhaust place will stock pipes from 1" in increments of .25" all the way to 5".....if they dont then theyre not a good exhaust place tbf

Steer clear of the cheap nasty powerflow or ets systems. Poor material, crushed bends and cheap boxes. They also tend to use thick material thats mega heavy!!.

Ive just made a 3" system for my car. I worked out for all the tube, mandrel bends, 2 boxes and materials it was going to cost £250.

Instead i picked up a second hand (mint) sierra cosworth system for £60 off ebay. Chopped it up and made it fit my car. £20 back from all the left over scrap = a 3" mandrel system for £40

As above, I took my car to power flow and in my personal experience, they are shit.

Look for a good exhaust place.

Looking at getting the parts for this soon.

Going to see how many metres i will need of stainless pipe. Will use a centre box just after the downpipe but thinking of just using a 3inch exhaust tip at the end of the system without a box. Will this be ok, it will probably be abit load though. Using mandrell bends also.

Or other idea was use the miltek backbox i have atm and make up a system but would the original backbox be to restrictive?

The backbox will more than likely be restrictive. I now have the exact same dilemma, I was hoping to keep my existing backbox and just replace the 2" pipe with 2.5" but its looking like Im going to have to get a new backbox too.
Like you, was just thinking of just adding a tip to the end but unsure of this.....need help also! Where are you sourcing your mandrel bends from?

Lol so you've decided to ignore all the above advice then?

Just take it to MIJ exhausts or something. Boom. Sorted. Any size, any mods, any boxes, any power requirements.

I want a proper system with mandrell bends rather than pipe just bent like most custom exhaust places.

I guess if its too loud with just a single box in the system and not having one at the rear, could maybe just put a extra one in.the system. I know dannygti had just a silencer in the system then just a straight pipe through to the end.

A good exhaust place will use mandrel bends

Local place near me does them for £300, turbo back... all mandrel bent and tig'd up with proper joints, centre and back silencer if wanted, and flexi
