Default 2013 (Your opinions)

Ok well, was speaking to the neighbour earlier and we were discussing a lot of things, and turned out to be a bit of a moan about the EU and the government. However very valuable points were brought up and would seem that a fair few people think the same way about certain issues in the UK (unsurprisingly).

However, it always boils down to the same thing. The general public, you myself and Irene can complain day in and day out but NOTHING will change, unless about 2 or 3 people at the top decide to listen.

Such things like the EU and the Greece/Cyprus affair. I would massively revolt. Especially if I had earned by working my tits off. Also the economy. That was another big topic.

There are lots of topics and this is so broad. I'm just looking for a semi-intelligent conversation, so please any opinions feel free to discuss.

I give it 5 posts on here lol!

The sooner the EU/Eurozone collapses the better, ok we would have a massive initial recession however having individual super powers no longer having to prop up failing economies is better for us long term.

In answer to the OP, there is something you can do about it. You can vote for an anti-EU party, like UKIP for instance. And even if you don't think they will ever take power, the ground that they make will be significant because it'll make the mainstream parties take note.

For example, whether it happens or not, the Conservatives have pretty much promised a referendum after the next election in 2015. If it becomes an item on their manifesto, you can be fairly confident that Labour will also include it on theirs as they won't want to be known as the party who refused a referendum.

The only problem with that, like you say, it that it is a huge topic. Many people couldn't understand how an alternative voting system would work a few years ago let alone something as complex as the eu. That said, the right-wing press are doing a pretty good job in convincing people that the eu is a bad thing. I don't disagree with them.
