Dc2 or S2000 ? Dilemma
Got a DC2 track car at present but it is not getting much use, would it be worth swapping to a JDM S2000 so it can have dual use I,e weekends and track days ?
Or would it be throwing more money into a pit like the wife says ?
I respect the S2000 but I have not driven one yet but , but most videos on youtube just show them crashing on track.
Are they that nasty ?

hi mate
I've had a JDM DC2 before and they are very good handling cars.
Also worth noting and correct me if i'm wrong, are S2000 RWD cars hence the crashes on track.
Thanks

I would say keep the DC2.
The S2k will be a money pit as you have said with having two uses, keeping it insured and taxed and then fuel and consumables will cost a fair bit and if you have coped this long with the DC2 as a dedicated track car it aint as though you need another daily car along with the range rover or whatever it is you got.

Both very good, tuned versions of both seemed to be pretty well-matched at the Spa circuit last weekend by what I saw.
S2k is more of a challenge but that F20C engine can hold consideably more power if that's your thing.

Dc2 IMO, different and capable, in all honesty I just see s2000 as a glorified mx5, both have +/- but both very tuneable

The divorce would cost me a lot more than the NSX.
But after that the mortgage on a cardboard box would make an NSX an option.

This shouldn't even be a consideration. The DC2 is driven by the wrong wheels.

I vote S2000.
Nothing against the DC2, i know how well they handle, but they aren't "fast".
You are probably used to it now too if you use it on track alot.
The S2000 will be more of a challenge, more rewarding, and more fun. Its easy to drive a FWD car fast and on the limit whereas the S2000 won't be.

That video is a peach. Guy clearly isn't concentrating. Look at his entry speeds into the corners and when he changes down a gear at the corner before he crashes, he's about 2 secs too late. Then when he looses it, its like he's watching the car in front then tries to take the same lines, forgetting he's in the same line the civic is going for.

S2000. Lovely engine, rwd. Saw a new Mugen Civic Type R in a carpark the other week, have the s2000 engine in it I think

Nope, just a slightly tweaked K20 in the Mugen and a body kit.

A friend has had them both and he like the dc2 better said he couldn't get on with rwd. I on the other hand like the s2k better. Rag top for sunny days and a capable in standard guise for the odd track day.
All Honda stuff is expensive.

+1 both great cars, but the s2000 is a level ahead in my opinion.
