can anyone help?? rear drums - Saxperience

hi all i need a little help i am replacing my rear cylinders and padsin my rear drums on my saxo it is a mk1 and i am just wanting to know how u get in to it i have the wheel off. how do i get the front of thedrum off if u know what i mean thanks dave

Go down to halfords and grab a haynes manual! It has a good few pages on them, i was flicking through the other night!

i hve one but it is at my gfs so would have to wait till next week get it and need to do it now lol only need to know how to get the front of the drum off ??

m8 get the drum off basically you unbolt the nut which hold the face of the drum on then got hit it with a hammer to shake all the rust etc to loosen it up then get chisel and knock the front of the drum face off! drum is in 2 sections with main section drum attached to the axel and the next part of the drum which is then the face of the drum conceiling the brakes etc bolted on!!

ive got spare drum faces in the garage i go and have look now to make sure thats right as it was while bk i took mine off to replace the pads and get pic up for you !!

theres pics m8 so unbolt it smack hammer loosen him up and then hit the pretruding metal all around the drum brake so the cover will come off! you can see the metal second pic! you will have to give it good smashing mind depending on how long its been since it was last taken off lol

Yeah take off your wheel. The locking nut in the middle has a groove in it , chisel out that metal then get a socket on the nut. Undo that then your in. I've got to do mine soon :-/

Haynes manual says that the nut is 34mm which is a god damn lie as its 32mm on my 2001 1.1 desire. The manual also states that the drivers side has a reverse thread which is also incorrect for my car so watch out
