Default temperature problemhi

hi peeps. i have a problem with my temperature gauge when i start my car my temperature goes up slowly as normal like it should do and when it gets just a little bit over half way the fan kicks in and all is still good. then 2 minutes later the temperature light comes on then when i switch off my engine the fan will not stop at all any help thanks.

Sounds like you obviously have a problem with the cooling system. Try the following...

1. Replace the coolant
2. Flush out the cooling system
3. Make sure there's no air lock in the system

The fan is supposed to stay on after you switch off the car btw...

ok thanks before though when turned engine off it went off aswell but ok thankyou.

cheers lads all sorted now it needed bleeding i just started the engine up and kept filling the radiator with water and bled it from that valve near the engine mount all is good now thanks,
