Default what is wrong?

hi, i purchased a vts 02 plate it drives spot on and dosent overheat at all when its moving, but as soon as it idles the temp needle goes through the roof up to the light and keeps going?

System needs bleeding/new coolant, I take it the fan doesn't kick in at all?

The fan does kick in but seems to do pretty much nothing in terms of cooling the engine while idling.

Poor radiator first port of call. Could also be a shafted water pump too

+1 for Gandi's post. Rad could be partially blocked or water pump needs changing.
