The speed sensor would have no affect on the engine starting, are there any lights flashing on the dash?

Could be a crank sensor issue, otherwise check you are getting fuel and spark. do you mean you can hear the fuel pump prime by relay?

check all the wiring over too and make sure nothings broken

I have no light bulb in the dashboard, fuel pump relay is heard, the injector can hear you make contact, it is not faulty sensor on the flywheel, one next to the gearbox that generates impulses?
