Default ODB to ODB2 adapter

I have a 1997 Saxo SX Auto that I am trying to get the ECU unit checked on it but I could not find a ODB2 where it should be under the fusebox but there is whats looks like an old ODB 30 pin below it

I can get an adapter 'OBD1 Citroen 30 Pin Adapter System On OBD II 16 Pin System' from ebay

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175310312...MaAq32EALw_wcB

My friend has a syncdiag diagnositic tool which is generic bluetooth that should read anything from 1996

Has anyone used an adapter before and knows what diagnositic tool will work with it?

cheers

It won't read it

you need Peugeot Planet tool. the 1996 OBD "standard" is a USA standard from 1996. We didn't adopt it in Europe until 2001 officially for petrol cars.
