Default Polished Bliss Detailing Vs Saxo VTS

This was a detail done on my cousins black Saxo VTS around 6 months ago.

I knew it would be quite badly swirled as it has always just been washed with a sponge (and left to dry in the sun he said!!) and very rarely polished or waxed but i had no idea how bad it would be until washed, clayed and dried off!

Claying alone took about 45 mins, it was really really rough, like sandpaper! but i eventually got it all smooth as glass

Here's some pics to give you an idea of how bad it was, as you can see, swirls were the least of my worries, there were a hell of alot of quite bad scratches and cob-webbing...

see how you can actually see the scratches/marring on the drivers door already in this first pic.....

As good a proof as you will find that you should use the handle INSIDE the tailgate to close it, note how you can see some very bad finger shaped scratches at the bottom of the bootlid...

not much reflections going on, that'll probably be to do with the scratches i would guess lol

Plan of action was straight to the Menzerna Power Gloss and cutting pad via rotary, the car also needed wet sanding in areas

All masked off and ready to be attacked!....

Process:

- Menzerna Power Gloss via cutting pad & Rotary @1500rpm
- Menzerna Final Polish II via PC & Polishing Pad
- Meguiars #80 Speed Glaze & #7 mix via PC and glazing pad
- Poorboys Nattys Blue Paste Wax
- Wheels - Poorboys wheel sealant
- tyres - Meguiars Endurance Gel
- Trim - 303 protectant
- Windows - Meguiars NXT Glass Cleaner
- Arches - 303

all buffed off with poorboys microfibre towels

and heres the afters:

god that was very bad to start with!!

Top work Clark!!

Really really really want a pc now.

My car was pretty much swirl free until 2 weeks ago, the curse of not drying the wash mitt out, and it fell to bits and swirled my car, doh! Not too bad though, but will be needing attention when i can afford pc!

Thats really impressive but I cant believe how bad the paint was to start with.

I reckon you've just increased that cars value by cleaning it.
