Default VTS/106 gti vs Bravo HGT

Right guys just wondering what do you think would be quicker around a track as my mate has a Bravo 2.0 20v Hgt and i'm planning on getting a 106 gti!

What we're planning to do is go to a track day when we can both afford it and see how we get on, at the moment i have a VTR and to be honest on B roads i can keep up quite well with it but obviously he pulls away on a nice straight!

I've been looking at the 0-60, 0-100 and 60-100 times and to be honest the GTI and HGT are quite even but in the real world on a track what do you think would come out on top?

Saxo/106 would handle better and would be just as quick if not quicker.

i would say that the 106 gti would slam the bravo on the track, its lighter for starters by around 200kgs so it would out handle it anyway and i would say that its quicker to in a straight line to but not by a lot

I would say saxo/106 as fiat don't seem to have the best reliability record.

.......R4T, and do you think for example a Redtop 2l Corsa in a GSi shell w/ GSi suspension would outdo a VTS on a track?

because if you do, i think you need to reconsider.

The saxo/106 will handle loads better and will be alot lighter, therefore the saxo/106 would win.

gti/vts no problem, 0-60 in 8.7 i dont think so matey, all these cars that are supposed to be just as quick or quicker just dont stand a chance this is what i have noticed through prvious experience's.
my summary= gti/vts would kick ass
