Bored Out and Throttle Bodies?
Just as the title says, anyone ever bored out their Saxo or put Throttle Bodies on it? I'm curious as I'm thinking of doing this myself haha.

right...... lol!
theres tons of saxos on throttle bodies!
and overbored engines are not good, you can oversize the pistons marginally, but if you think that your gonna get it to a 1900 then you might aswell get the big rubber dong and insert it with no lube now.

Bored out the engine gasket head.
The throttle body question was a different matter, I was wondering if anyone has put TB's on their Saxo?

Any noticable power differences? Like, major? Anyone had theirs RR'd?
I think 1900 would be a bit much! I was thinking maybe 1700 - 1800 really lol. Would I then need to get a hold of a thicker gasket head?

For example..
Fiat used the 1.8 16v engine and downbored it to 1600 for reliabilty for the s1600 punto..
i would never bore an engine out.. If you want huugge power, get a bigger engined car.
If you want a little screamer, keep it a 1600 and spend some money..

Lol, it would be an interesting project if the engine was fully rebuilt to the specs of the bored out pistons so that it was completely reliable. We're talking major money here like! Just a question I thought I'd ask haha.

to run tbs you want wild cams, as theres no point without running them, to run wild cams you need to rev high, revving high and narrow cylinder walls = hello mr piston mett your new wife mrs bonnet.
you do know there are a few 180+ and 1 200bhp plus throttle bodied 1600 TU engines in current use.

Yeah? Didn't know that mate, cheers. As I said, I'm only thinking about it eh. If what you guys are saying it will be too problamatic then I won't go down that route tbh. It's the whole reason why I don't want to go down the Forced Induction route as it seems too problamatic.
I'm assuming you mean there are a few 180+ bhp Saxos? I take it they're not VTRs tho, right?
