Ok so its a week exactly since my saxo was broken into at work car park, nothing taken and I managed to replace the lock myself

so I wake up this morning and the passenger door is crowbared and has been opened. Sub, amp and digital camera gone!

fucking pissed off!

And I took the pin out of the driver door lock when I repaced it but decided that cause I havent got central locking taking the passenger one would be more hassle than its worth - turns out not.

So where do I go from here. Going to need a new door I assume - whats the cheapest way to sort this out?

cheers, (one very fucked off)Tom

Car was actually on the road just in front of the house. moved it onto the drive now the door is hanging off. normally parents car is there...

going to have to invest in an alarm I think - any recomendations?

Also can I fit the deadlocks despite not having central locking?

at least I've still got my headunit. mite take that out now cause the car is going to have to sit there tonite like that. Going to have to rewire the fucking thing now I've got no amp too... fucking cunts.

Door pins are fairly easy to take out mate if a bit fiddly - see the sax-p tutorial, no cost just a bit of time - Do it.

Can I just get a new door? if so where from? is this job going to be over my head?

cheers, T

scrappy best bet for the door, as far as im aware it shouldnt be to difficult to remove a door and fit a new one but an assistant or two wouldnt go a miss

Oh dear... sorry to hear that mate!!

You could find a door in a scrappy in the same colour if you are lucky, or grab a new/2nd hand door and have it re-painted to match.

Get rid of both door pins, than I would recommend getting an alarm, at the same time get the central locking modules and think about thinking the deadlocks, which I have.

You dont necessarily need an expensive alarm, just something to deter and to warn you (siren)

Ok so looks like I am off to the scrappy tomorrow then. How much money should I be looking at? I really dont have any idea? how much for a new door?

and how hard is it to spray - do I need specail gear?

Also where do I get the central locking modules?

djbex - RE: the holes. u can get rubber gromits or just leave them..

Dont do the spraying yourself.. it will not come out good enough. It will cost about £50 to have a door re-sprayed professionally.

Have you tried ebnding the door back? (put the window down first)

Some people use rubber grommits to fill the door pin hole. They can be bought from Halfrods for about 50p.

In simple terms, they are like rubber do-nuts
