My grandad just came back from a fishing trip to france...
Didnt catch alot.. infact only caught 3 carp... all weighing over 40lbs! they were monsters!
My dad had a 19lb out on the weekend!
I used to be really into it as we have some good waters in south wales area... but have been in a few years tbh

Used to be into it until 400 quids worth of kit got broken in one weekend in random situations, kinda put me off. 2 Small 30 quid poles, a 120 quid 9m pole with some expensive elastic, and my brand new 180 quid Drennan rod which snapped the first time i used it when i had a 2 lb perch on the line and drennan wouldnt fix it they said it was my fault. Its good fun though

I know it was about 2 inches from the tip too. Pathetic.
And pretty good, went to 'plantations' and 'bullocks farms' for some reason they were awesome in the rain. When i was after smaller fish you could catch loads of decent sized bream tench and perch in a small session. The carp were a bit wairy but if you went on a good day then you could catch large mirrors all day long.
Theres a lake down near my house which isnt a fishery, used to have loads of huge carp in it, most of the other fish were minnows so you couldnt catch anything small without getting minnows. But there were some 20 pounders in there, and a 15 pound ghost/koi which was worth shit loads. Then a load of gypsys came and had a party, dumped their cars in the lake and set fire to em and all the fish got killed. Which was nice of em

i go when ever i get the chance, i do loads of fishing, carp, trout, salmon sea trout and sea fishing.
dont get to go much as im away all the time, but its a great way to relax. i like to go to woodlands fishery think its down thirsk way, some where like that lol
i have had some cracking fish out of there and a few other places around the york area.
i spend over a grand a year on salmon club tickets on the tyne, only went once last year!
its dead mans boots, if i loose my place, i need to wait for years just to get in again, so have to pay to keep it going, well worth it tho as we have some of the best salmon beats on the tyne and get some cracking fish!
im going this week when i get home need to chillax and drift off to the special place lol

woodlands is a cool place, they hold a load of big matches there and peeps come from all over to fish. the have about 10 lankes too.
i have about 3 or 4 ponds near to mine, im a member in one and the others just have fish in, no probs fishing them. the carp are massive as peeps feed the ducks all of the time and they bulk up on bread. biggest i have had from the was 23lb on a fooking quiver tip and light line, took ages to get in, its pritty shallow with no snags so i just had to let it tire itself out, we have seen bigger fish in there than that one too.
im thinking of going on a fishing holiday for salmon in russia, you catch 20lbs every other cast and have the chance of 40 and 50lbs +. not cheap, but well worth it

i only ever use bread, corn or luncheon meet for carp. works ever time. normall use poly bags with pellets, groundbait mix and a few bits of corn.
i have had a few on bollies and hallibit pellets but i like corn on a hair rig best. i have had most of my big carp on the set up

i have had my biggest fish of a bit of free lined bread crust, carnt beat that, you just see them pop up and "SUCK", the bread goes, wait for the line to move, then lift into it and hold on lol carnt beat that
yes you can, a 20lb salmon spinning a flying c on a carp road, its like hooking a train lmbo

I bet that was a awsome fishing trip i would love to go some where like that.
Did you see in the paper that the biggest carp ever caught was a couple of weeks ago in thailand and was estimated at around 20 stone.
