Some right turnips on that message board though. "Raise driving age to 25" and "limit to 1200cc". Feck off. People who say that are over 25 and have had thier fun.Why oh why did the driver have to drive like that though with a lad he didnt know?

I'm sure most of us dont go tanking round at "100mph". Its just extremely tragic that a fantastic lad has died through no fault of his own. The driver has to shoulder that burden throughout his entire life.

Everytime i read this thread I get a lump in my throat

raise driving age to 25!! ffs , if people had it there way everyone would have died of old age before there legal to masturbate , if they raised the driving age and limited people to 1.2's then up goes the number of people driving without a liscence and without insurance e.t.c , its not like u never see anyone over 25 speeding , i see taxi drivers over 30/40 going like a abserlute spoon , not to mention all the 25+ white van men speeding around . jesus crist this country has some dicks in it

im 24 and still having fun, and as I get better off in years to come, my cars will just keep getting faster, so raising age to 25 will do fuck all.

people just have to accept that cars are a lethal thing and its enevitable (if thats how you spell it) that people will die.

young lads who like their cars will drive fast. just think about the consequences whilst you do, and always think about other people, as the other lad driving should have in this case and this thread wouldnt exist.

it really does pis me off when moaning old cunts moan and comment at times like this. Just be careful lads and lass's.

never knew Gav but im sure he will be missed and my heart go's out to his family and friends.

One last thing, J Clarkson said the 106 gti was one of the best handleing front wheel drive cars he has ever driven, so has Tiff Needel and vicky butler henderson too

Hate how they use the term "boy racer".

In my opinion theres a difference between "boy racer" and Car Enthusiast

Boy Racer car + High speed crash. It's a sterotype - You can expect comments from idiots who think they know it all. But only his real mates know what he's really like.

I didn't get the opportunity to ever speak to him, but after reading this thread I feel I've missed out. RIP Mate.

would I be less of a man if I said I just burst out crying?

I hate it when things like this happen, seen it to many times were I live.

I get upset for two reasons.

1.there is family members & friends who have lost a loved one in sucha fashion it pops up unexpected.

2.the driver of the car has to live with this on there mind for the rest of there life.

RIP fellow saxper.

EDIT: as a sign of respect im goin to get a sticker done for my skyline saying 17.02.2010 R.I.P Japman I wish to show my respects and since he loved cars in general this really is the only way I can think of doing it.

just read that daily mail report.

Its a disgrace. Both the comments and the report itself. Too many mistakes for such a serious story!

FCS is for peugeots and citreons apparently... What happened to newspapers having to spell things properly!? and getting their facts right....

as for the comments of typical daily mail readers... heartless bastards!

If Gav had been known by them then I can guarantee their replies would be completely different.

Nice to see The Mail never missing a beat with its Broken Britain agenda - the comments don't surprise me either, the article was written as a catalyst for the given responses given the biasing. Admittedly I never realised DM readers were that callous and miss guided.

End of the day, Gav's died in tragic circumstances and people regardless of all the facts are going to draw up conclusions with no real thought for what they're saying and who they're upsetting/offending.

I just went on his profile and that was pretty sad seeing the photo of him with presumably his girlfriend.

Rest in Peace Dude.
