SAXO VTS Problems

Hi guys,

I have some questions about my saxo VTS.
If i have driven the saxo for a while and i shut it down.... When i start it again it just collapses and shuts down unless i push the gas pedal.

I noticed that under the hood of my saxo something was missing.
Can you guys tell me if this has something to do with the problems i am having ?

See below for a picture of my saxo's engine area.
Isnt there supposed to be a cable or something connected to the sensor ?

I know it is only a pic, but mine has a connector here so it looks like there is a bit missing.

If you can see where it goes down the back of the engine there, at least it give you an idea of what the plu looks like. I guess it measures for air and fuel. Hence why yours is cutting out?

it the heating probe if i am correct, but unsure if this is need, but i would think it would be needed tho.

Doesnt it calculate the amount of air that is needed (the sensor where the connector goes in to)....

I also dont have that tiney pipeline that has a tube that connects it to the air filter.
I dont know if thats a problem.....

As stated above... i Asked around and some people said it does calculate the amount of air needed. I was thinkingif it doenst have one.... then sometimes it allows to much air ? or to little air and that the engine breaks down.

i also have a bmc air filter, does it get better once warm?

That plug is for the throttle body heater. Have a fish around beneath to see of it's somehow dropped down below.

you were right VTS 123.... it was somewhere down.
I went to a Citroen Tuner in Amsterdam who found it and connected it.
They also did a diagnostic check..... NO errors.

I will have to come back thursday as they are going to check my electrical circuit according to a Citroen scheme.

The problem still occurs when they turned on the lights/radio/alarm lights/heater my saxo dropped dead and went out.

They checked the alternator and battery and cleaned another thing (in dutch STAPPENMOTOR and in english i have no idea stappen = steps motor= engine).

So the problem still occurs

I'd try cleaning the MAP sensor. It's really easy to do and can make quite a difference to the idle.

It is on the left hand (as you look at the engine) rear corner of the plenum chamber (the blck box with '16V' on) and held on with a 5mm allen head screw.

Take it out and squirt right inside with WD40 for a few seconds a few times. Loads of oily gunk with probably come out.

The other thing that can improve the idle and is easy to do is to simply disconnect and reconnect all of the electical connectors to all of the engine sensors that you can easily get to a few times. This can improve electrical conductivity.

It may also be worth replacing the ECU coolant temperature sensor. This is quite cheap and is often the cause of poor idling.

Try resetting the ECU too - disconnect the battery for about an hour to do this.

they located the problem.. it was a sensor that controls the intake of all the air.
the problem was solved for 386 euros included with the other bill of 95 euros.

Then i drove to a guy for a new grill for my saxo.
On the way back my clutch died ....................!>!>!>!>!>!

I was sidelined @ the freeway.
They brought the saxo to a place where its at now.

They are going to deliver the sax at the garage where i fixed my first problem.
And now i have another one what will probably cost me around 400 euros.

SUX!
