they are the basic same design of caliper
but
as with others the actual mounting lugs are different so they require brackets to mount them on

No not the same at all!
The caliper is of the same design and with same size pistons pads etc
but the mounting points are different for each application

you also need at least 16" if not 17" due to the bracket bringing the caliper so far away from the hub

Would imagine would need spacers to make them fit a Saxo, plus custom brackets

The calipers are the same. Need 406 mount brakets. Can fit them under 15s need 17mm spacers on vts wheels. Not sure if mo5s with the curves fit over without spacers. Not worth it with big spacers imo get wilwoods if ya dont want spacers and run vts wheels

when you say you need 406 mounting brackets, do you mean you get a bracket made to fit or is there something of the shelf

will be able to get it off the shelf from pug or brembo i would have thought as they came as standard.
Researching, the brackets are different.

You can buy the 406 brackets but if you know someone decent it will be easy for someone to make them

4pots seem to be just for show from what ive seen of cars with them on. Really do seem to be overkill.
( I will probably get slated for that comment but I speak as I find )

stuff is only for show, if your simply looking at it

Although you would never admit it on here you frequently tell me yours are shte and havent stopped complaining about them since you got them Steven.
Back end steps out, hardly any bite....the list goes on
Richie also states they are a waste of time and he neednt have bothered.
I do have experience of a 150bhp saxo pushed to the limit using a 266mm set up and it is more than adequate. In your words in fact 'your brakes are really good'.

have you seen my rear axle?
and height of car at the rear?
bald tyre on front left, with cv grease on it
all things that alter straight line braking ronald.
the bite is the pads thats why they are £26
Still out brakes most things.
I had 266mm they were shit, lasted 3 laps of rockinham, croft they were alright near end of session they were fucked.
You have fast road track pads in your 266mm
and you dont have that ghey ebd shite.
each to their own i suppose.
was cheaper than buying fast road pads for my 266mm's in the long run.
Once i fix my wonky slonky axle, it has eventually gone completely
get my car height sorted and my new pads on, abs sorted (as on other forums they think the ghey ebd does use the abs sensors) will give you a brake test race on the airfield, who can stop the fastest front 40mph, 60mph 80mph etc lol
TBH every time i drive your car, the brake pad feel is awesome, it is shite in my car, but the speedo dramatically drops with the 4pots compared to yours, currently i have mine set so can nip them last minute before a corner.
But progressive braking is a no no atm, all or nothing

the way I see it is the bracket would be something like this, which will move the caliper away from the hub a inch or so. which would mean you need bigger wheels and run bigger disk than 283/5mm
sorry the picture aint grate but gives you an idea what im getting at

the bracket, is what mounts the caliper (brembo) to the strut on the car.
Different cars have different hub arrangements, thats why need different brackets so you can mount the caliper to your strut.
But with refference to what you said, you can change the size of the braket to run bigger discs, pointless going too big as the part of the disc closest to the hub wont have any contact with the the pads in the caliper.
If you know what i mean?

yeah the spacing on the fiat brakes are 130mm were as the saxo are 85mm iirc. So a bracket is needed to reduce this size, but with the bracket you would be bringing the caliper away from the hub
