The only thing I could think you could do is create a new policy and cancel it within 14 days. There will be a cancellation fee and a pro-rata charge for the time you have been covered (worked out by the annual premium price).

Expect to pay £120+, but it's better than paying £434.

Not an ideal solution by any means, you might be better finding another option to needing the insurance.. if you need to make a claim or forget to cancel within the magical 14 days, it will be at least be expensive or open a whole can of worms

I needed insurance just the other week actually, on my derv, to drive it home. Had to get 48 hours policy, and (gulp) I was already part way though the drive when I realised my existing insurance didn't cover me. I stopped in the motorway services on the M6, umped on the internet, and got cover within 15 minutes, with the cover note on my iphone. Result. Paid £34 for the two days if I recall.

I think it's always gonna be very expensive prorata for short term policies.

I went through tempcover.com - don't know if you've tried them?

Problem is I think most daily/weekly temp cover requires you to be 25+

Yeah I guess they don't want a 17 year old getting day insurance to drive his older mates Scooby etc

Bit of a shitter though because im 23 and I couldnt drive my girlfriends little corsa 1.2 back from the garage she bought it off. Her dad had to take a day off work, ive got 3 years no claims so not exactly high risk!
Oh well, 2 more years for me lol

Most daily cover has a Group 16/17/18 limit.
