Default Bad times for my insurance.

Just got my renewal through for Feb 1st for my 1.3i SR yaris. Its went from £497 a year

to £1499!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone have any idea why this is?

Im insured with the AA coz they where cheapest at the time, im now struggling to get insured for less than 1200 on any compare websites!!!

Can anyone suggest a cheaper insurance company???

We all use the car so we have to all be insured.

On my insurance is:

My mam 8 years no claims (53yrs) driving 30 years
My bro non no claims (37yrs) driving 17 years
Me 1 years no claims (22yrs) driving 5 years in may

Quick search would have answered it tbh mate.

Near enough everybodys insurance has gone up this year. IIRC they said the AVERAGE rise is 40% although some have still gone down

The only no claims which matters to the policy would be yours as you are the policyholder
The fact your mum has 8 years no claims as no bearing on the price as she is simply a named driver

As mentioned, insurance has gone up a lot in the last 12-18 months
Try Admiral or Elephant and use the same details, i.e. same additional (named) drivers
They tend to be cheaper but you have to pay in a lump sum to get a decent price

i was with admiral the year before. I think il give them another go.... i got my insurance super cheap last year thanks to the AA making a mistake..

Started insurance in FEB and took first payment (which wasnt a deposit) as it was a pay for everymonth policy... the next payment didnt come out my bank until august.

But still tho, makes me heave how much its gone up, how do they expect young people to drive. I have been driving 4 years (5 years in may) and i really need 2 cars insured as i dont have a garage and i think its pretty disgusting that they can just put up the cost like that.
