Default Camshaft hub torque setting

Hi people,

I'm in the process of rebuilding my 16v turbo engine and I've got to the point that I need to put my camshaft sprockets on.

Now the Haynes and the torque settings I've found on here both say 80nm,

It just seems excessive to me, I'm using my torque wrench and it feels like it's going to strip the threads in the camshaft! I just haven't got the bollocks to keep going!

Help please!

its not a small bolt, so 80 Nm sounds about right, the small ones go to something like 10 Nm
