Default Engine identification

Going to look at a 106, been told it has a phase 2 VTR engine fitted. Here are some pictures of the engine bay.

Can anyone confirm if its a VTR, and if its the 90 or 98bhp one?

Cheers.

That looks like a 90 horse silver top vtr engine but the air box is wrong for that year of engine. However considering its missing half the breather and air feed pipes i'd say its just been thrown on instead of an induction kit.
Get the engine number if in doubt or at least see what material the block is made of - if its ali or cast. Cast block means 1600 (unless its a 1.4 xsi engine which is very very unlikely). Ali means cooking spec 1.1,1.4 or if you are lucky 1.3 rallye but again extremely unlikely especially running the injection set up it has. Hope that helps
