Default 1360cc westcoast (back to standard now :( ) UP FOR SALE

Hey all

Been a member for AGES!!!!
Most don’t know me and i have been told numerous times to do a project thread so here it goes.....

I bought my westie pretty much std. the only mods were a hideous set of alloys which were replaced the day after i got it! unfortunately i don’t have any pics of my awful alloys, and some go faster stickers which didn’t come off until i really got into my car
Also it had a complete service as had no service history the power steering didn’t work and the starter motor was rogered!!
With it all fixed and sorted we lowered the front and back 50mm and i meshed my grille to give the below results
The first picture i have of it...

Then it came to get a new interior, again it was a std westcoast interior since mine stunk of cancer sticks and had fag burn holes in the seats aswell!

Finally realising it was a chavvy thing to have go faster stickers on they were quickly removed! woop

Fortunately i decided to go with the correct choice of improving performance and ever since i have been FIXED!!!!!
I bought a magnex backbox and fabricated an adapter for it to it up to std. system... this is now used for MOT times

DAMMIT!!!!
Knowing my car had a tiny oil leek we kept an eye on it and unfortunately the head gasket went on me but hey it was a paper shitty one
It got taken home by Josh (jpsaxo) and the old man so i could return to college after dinner in town at pizza hut.... cheers JP

Since i had the craving for more performance i bought a 270 piper fast road cam and the springs which can withstand 285's to accompany it off josh
So while the head was off and it had a rebuild it would be rude not to fit it

Once it got back on the road it was xmas time and m car got a few presents from santy clause it was some samco hoses and a pipercross ind. kit dad managed to get for a 5er
Also it got treated to an oil breather and upper strut brace

Then a problem struck again clutch was buggered!
The friction plate was completely shot... this was then replaced with a luk clutch

As you can just see above it has a new manifold
This came shortly after when georgeL organized a group buy for the Raceland 4-2-1 so i joined in, and then i bought some industrial boiler tape of eBay to wrap round it and its awesome stuff!

after enjoying it being on the road for a little while i decided it was time to further improve my car, luckily when jp purchased his engine a decat and straight through pipe came with it so i snapped that up to give this after some modification

This was fitted on with some group N bushes so i was on the right route

Then once at work i noticed a knocking noise when i accelerated so i had a poke around and found the problem, the lower engine mount had been ruined like matt westie after 10 pints and 25 shots lol

So once again to improve on std. ones i got my hands on a grp N one and that was fitted

Eventually wanting to end up being a track slag it was inevitable that it was going to have a stripping session sooner than later so i complimented it all with 2 buckets and 2 3-point harnesses

Then it was off to Silverstone to trax for my first ever track experience

I became well and truly hooked! I was so happy and impressed with how well my little westie had done and coped out there keeping up with a VTR and passing him

I then snapped up a llandow place so i continued with further stripping with help from kev_fury to get my dash off to get the firewall sound deadening out and off came the spare cage since i bought a ratchet strap to mount my spare in the rear

Then since there wasn’t anything i could do with no money being a student i found a job and that was to remove the B-pillar strips

Before:

After:

Was very pleased with results

Then came llandow which was soooooo much fun i would recommend anyone to do it since it is such a small circuit so you can progressively inc. once warm

Both I and josh used it at llandow so it got a hell of a lot of punishment and the tyres got RAPED!!!

Since then it has sat on the drive most of the time but has had a few treats one significant change was the throttle body from jp's old westie inlet.
It started of as a solid lump of metal with 2 reducers on it same size as the ones on the plastic one below which was fitted to mine (both T reg's)
so i ported it out completely knife edging everything i could to maximise my work but the dremel piece broke and i had to finish porting a tiny bit and polishing it completely by hand then rebuilding it with my sensors since i knew they were still fine!

Plastic one (mine)... metal one had same sized reducers :O, have pictures if needed

Metal one after port and polish... mmmmmmmmmmm shiny

Both compared to show my workmanship

the metal reducers were solid just to show it wasn’t a 5 min job took me 3 days to get right!

When i went to start the car up after fitting and checking it wouldn’t, so while i was at work over xmas dad found problem.... a cell in the battery had stopped ionizing the battery fluid

While waiting for the opportunity to go get a decent battery i got give a new fire extinguisher so i mounted t in the rear and changed the rear harness mounting point so it looked neater imo

So finally tonight we fitted a new -ve battery connection and fit new battery and dropped and refilled anti freeze to cope with the coming winter chills!

Sorry for the long read
Any recommendations as for future plans etc.

All comments and opinions welcome good or bad
Anything im not fussed

Thanks Sam (westieSP)

its not been driven on the road as not taxed but on revs its a lot more on edge (you touch it and it reacts straight away!)
