I have driven a 105, 120 and the 160 version. All where utter shit IMO. At the time I owned a VTS and it shat over all of them. The handling was simply terrible and rolled like a fucker compared to my saxo.
Also the interior in the MG's is so drab and cheaply made its unreal.
Not saying saxo's are amazing cars, but they are better than ZR's IMO.
I would have a saxo over one anyday.

Nope, my VTS had full de-cat exhaust but standard suspension. All of the MG's I drove had various modifications and were not standard. I didn't like them at all.
The 160 gave me a run for my money, but my sax was still faster.
O and this wasn't on the street either, it was on track last June.
I tell you what, you buy a ZR and ill buy a VTS then we can see which is better on the track.

i could quite easily afford a far better car. but id rather spend my money wisely rather than going out and buying a 12 month old car.

And as for the ZR bashing, as much as I like the saxo more anyone who thinks a vts will get near a 160 is so far up their own arse they've forgotten what day light is
The mg's have soft springs but don't loose grip and when mated to the LSD in the vvc they arnt to be completely dismissed as "shit" because all your mates down "maccy d's" joke about them.

Accord Type R is a very good shout tbh.
Saab 9000 Carlsson also?, still fast by today's standards and would be an awesome sleeper imo, also has the benefit of being a proper SAAB not GM.
Don't bother with the 9-3 aero's as someone mentioned earlier in the thread, suspension issues along with Cracked bulkheads, very common on them.
3k is a decent budget so have a good look round.
