Default Powerflex exhaust mounts

Just a quick question really, since fitting my powerflex lower engine mount I have a noise what sounds like my exhaust hitting the underside of the car, am I best buying the powerflex exhaust mounts designed for a saxo or the universal ones you cut to size from Halfords, bearing in mind my current backbox mounts sit quite stretched due to the location of the hangers.

Does anyone have experience with either?

Cheers

once i fitted my powerflex lower gearbox/engine mount my exhaust was banging on the heat shield, so i fitted the race/rally spec saxo exhaust mounts from ebay and it stopped most of it.
it still did it in reverse so in the end i just removed the part of the shield that covers the handbrake cable adjustment nut/bolt.

its sorted it for me

I don't think its the shield mate cos I can't see where its touching :/ i'd think it would have rubbed a mark? And i've already removed that back shield just the front one remains....its puzzling me :/

anyone give me any suggestions as I wanna order them soon, i've got a feeling the noise may be the tailpipe hitting the left and right edges of the cutout in the bumper, although the noise sounds more metallic, it looks like it has been hitting it...I assume sturdier rubbers will solve this?

It must depend which exhaust mate, mines a powerflow which isn't much smaller than the size of the cutout, so i'm assuming its this as I cant see anywhere else it is hitting?

Ah I see, might have to get myself some then...although are your hangers on the powerflow a bit short, mine are...whichever person at powerflow made it probably lost his glasses that day haha), either that or the motorsport exhaust mounts.

Which powerflex ones you get? could you link me please.

Do you think they will stop my exhaust hitting something on the undrerside after fitting a powerflex gearbox mount? Also my current rubbers are stretched a bit to reach both hangers due to the way powerflow made my backbox...will i be able to do this with yours?

Cheers

I find the powerflex mounts with the 4 hanger holes are good for adjusting the exhaust into the right place got them on mine coz my backbox was hitting something under the car, like these 1s uve probably already seen them:

yeah those are the ones i've seen, the only problem is my exhaust sits perfectly with the standard mounts, albeit a bit stretched.

Powerflex ones are shit and snap. The Kam racing ones are strong as F**k and give just enough movement without been ott.
