3rd Time Lucky VTS - Poorly car :( Treated it to a K&N Gen2!
Well, onto my 3rd Saxo now, after mine selling earlier this year, and the missus' gone, there was an empty space on my drive to fill!
The original plan was to move house, but as the housing market is shite at the moment we've decided against it.
Anyway, to recap, here's how my first saxo turned out.
Bought this standard ish 1997 VTS on 61K for £1000 back in December 08.
Which got stripped out and some lightweight wheels
Before ending up getting neglected and taken away by the scrap man...
So roll on December 10, and I went and purchased this VTR
Which got stripped out with the intention of taking on track days.
But, me and my girlfriend were going to buy a bigger house so it unfortunately got sold to put towards my negative equity! (mark1311 is the new owner).
Anyway, as aforementioned, the house move is on hold, so I went out and bought myself a VTS!
Picked up this 2002 'S' with 103k on the clock for £850. Full service history (booked stamped every 20k) and every MOT from its first.
The engine runs sweet as a nut, however there a few niggling little issues with it. Brake warning light is on, just needs the fluid topping up, and the ABS warning light is on, its been disconnected.
Plans for this are not alot really, not going down the stripping out route again, although it might lose some weight inside. Its going to get lowered, new manifold and exhaust, new panel filter and some 266mm brakes. Then I'm going to get the VT kit colour coded and the alloys in grey.
I'll keep fiddling with the styling, but no major engine mods or big ice installs here. Just going to look after it.
One plus point is the paint work is immaculate! There are a couple of annoying dints in it, but its never been through a car was in its life!
You can just about make out how shiny it is, and it hasnt even had a clean here!
Anyway, enjoy and I'll keep it updated as I change things!

Glad to see a thread up mate! Looks tidy and nice to see a standard unmolested saxo, hopefully it will treat you well! Plans sound good to!!
Ps I read that first and second time round as the missus had gone...third time round I realised what you meant

White Steelies were off a 406 that I painted myself, they went with the car!
I'm really stuck with what to do with this... Its in such good condition I just darent do anything to it as I dont want to ruin a well looked after VTS, theres not many left!
I'm half tempted to completely renovate it and keep it completely standard, then garage it just to save as a future classic...

Haha, she's got a clio anyway, this is mine, all mine!!
I'm not stripping it all out again! Bought some door cards off Lippy though and some 106 door bins, so I'm taking all the interior door cards out. Might take the roof lining and everything else out, or just paint it black, not sure yet. But gonna get the dash flocked just for looks, lol.
Hopefully get it lowered soon and i've got a full exhaust system, inlcuding manifold, ready to go on. But that might be as far as I go...

Right, so even though it's still pissing it down outside I thought I should try to do something on the car. So I fitted my smoked lights on the front and back and fitted my new badges!
I'm liking it to be honest! Wasn't too sure about the back lights at first but think they look ok.
Love my new badges though! It never came with any 16v on the rearm quarters either, so tiny bit of a sleeper vibe going on!
I've got a shed (and house!) full of parts to go on this, I'm just waiting for the weather to change!
In my possession I currently have;
Flocked dash
Cobra Daytona buckets
Race style door cards and 106 bins
New steering wheel
Full 'Toyo Sport' exhaust system (which I'm going to do a review of when it's fitted)
"Toyo Sport" manifold
Spax psx 40mm lowering kit
Mesh grille.
Think that's everything. My mates letting me use his garage this weekend so hopefully might have some more progress then!
Oh, and it might get a wash

Nope, 4x108 et15
Don't think they make them anymore though. They're only 5kgs a wheel, proper lightweight for the track!
I was thinking of putting them on this, spraying them white with a red lip, but I just dont think they'd suit the car.
