Default Drivers seat stuck fully back

Went for a carwash came back to car after they'd finished and the drivers seat is fully stuck back won't release to bring forward at all, fortunately I'm not short but its a bit uncomfortable sitting in the back. i I have tried a long telescopic magnet and had a good feel around there with it but cant feel anything blocking it , is there a knack to freeing it or do i just "give it a damn good thrashing" and hope for the best?

Will be the release spring fucked on it theirs a plate on innder side of drivers seat where the arm is to release keep moving the arm pushing up and letting go to find the release plate get a thick ended screw driver and smack it and hold force on it down after hitting hard to leave in unlock position. I had to do on mine a few times. Need new really but since doing working fine so cba changing while working. It will be iver off the track on it or they pushed too far back take seat out and see if it moves freely or not maybe need new like me.

Spot on thanks very much after clearing all the dust out I figured out what you were saying very helpful .
They must have absolutely rammed it back hard I think the only way to sort it is a new seat or just be careful / tell them to be careful next time It gets cleaned.

Yes because the pretensioner is connected to the airbag & a big whack to the seat would have similated a crash.

Forgot that part but its not the actual seat whacking but the runner part but still best unplugging or batty off and doing Even when I did it on mine nothing went off and was connected up. After I sorted mine out I did unplug connector and eventually took seat out cleaned all out and since then. Think just gonna get runners for it and sort out some day but still CBA lol.
