Staying flat arch, ideally that'll aid the sleeper look in future been dicussing tonight whether to go all out for 16 valves or just enjoy an R lump. (this is still a long way off though, or at least till I can afford it)

Does feel alot more stable and the bodyroll has significantly reduced, much more fun to drive Can really notice the difference, I wish I could say the same about the 1.0 106 have you made a thread for it?

I did the 4 stud purely so that option was there for the future, shedloads of cars have inspired me (greensaxo's, snewham's, suki, to name a few) , this car is going to rust away with me in all fairness.
I've been speaking to a few people recently and as one stated it "depends on what the car will do in the future?"
To which I thought long and hard, and in reality the car won't always be a daily run round/fun road car... it'll be my toy for the weekend/track. And the conclusion of the S engine made more sense.
That said the car should *touch wood* see a smooth tarmac'd track this year, but this leave more ideas to roam around inside my head, hard to focus the direction of the car at present.
But if I want the power more recently *say next year june-ish* I could look at a R engine. Lots to think about.

Nackered exhaust, out with the old.
Opinions?
Well the exhaust that magically covered approx 80k has finally corroded, A hole has appeared by the backbox, now do I spend all out and buy a supersprint cat back system (£199) and keep the "derestricted cat" currently on the car or do I buy a piper bb (£137) and fit my welded stainless standard system (new cat welded to centre pipe).
Open to any thoughts here.
Please not I love the supersprint systems noise, always have done.. I realise its slightly different to piper lol! But I really like both systems and cant decide which system I'd prefer.
The only thing that puts me off supersprint is how the backbox looks.
Also a mini update:
For over a week I've had a 22mm front arb and brand new VTS wishbones and droplinks.

I think I'll go for the rasp, even my mum thinks its more feasable to buy the entire system then get the backbox and fit the stainless centre that I've got spare.
Havent bought FCS tickets yet, got the time off just need to fork out , I want track time aswell though

Supersprint fitted
After a load of mess last week my supersprint got fitted (my cat needed to be cut down and I'm now wishing I had a decat) the exhaust has slightly melted the bumper but I've sanded it down a tad and it should be sorted by FCS.
Anywho I went to lower my mates clio with him in stourbridge, he's got some immense shots on his proper camera but here are some of mine:
My FCS tickets have now arrived, and some last bits I'm trying to get done before then are:
New sax-p stickers to tidy the car up.
Mirror caps,
Respray strut brace,
smoked side repeaters,
shorter aerial.
Just to tidy the car up slightly.

Not much in terms of updates really been busy all over the shot with mates cars etc. And I've had a large holiday to organise. Anywho here's some pics since the start of june
Met with my mate for a small photoshoot and a small drive to "bed in" his new exhaust:
And some at FCS:
A little comparison between the last two years.
And got a set of mirror caps just in time for cornwall.
And I may be visiting a certain track at the end of the month so have some protection lined up
Plans for the summer in time for trax to tidy the car up are as follows:
Pressed plates,
smoked side repeaters,
shorter ariel
and I'm a bit undecided on the following:
I'd like a black roof (roof needs a respray) and I've always been a fan of the "meaner" mk1 grille debadged I quite like it and I've been quoted £130 for all the work

MOT fail
Right as I expected my car failed it's MOT. Oddly it broke the emissions machine. Quite annoyed i got my report sheet back and there was only one fail and it was "emissions failure"
Due to a leak at the inlet the car is idling all over the shot and the car is pushing in more fuel that it needs.. although I am getting very good mpg.
So what does this mean for my car? The garage currently have my car and are working on the inlet to find the leak, myself and rickyP couldn't find it however but we'll soon see if the garage sort it and get it through the emissions. I left the car at 1pm I will check on at them at 4:30pm.
Hopefully it won't set me back too much and I'll be having a few more days happy driving

Fingers crossed for you.
Its well annoying being in these kind of situations. Best hope the garage dont bill you stupid amounts for simple work too!

Cheers Rush, I rang them a moment ago but the tester said he'd give me a call back when he gets a moment free.
Despite how nice it is having such a poppy exhaust it's not good on the head to get so much petrol being pushed in. I just want the engine running as sweetly as possible as it's not exactly standard atm
Out of interest were you on the m6 on saturday heading northbound near birmingham? I saw a caged black 106 so immediately thought of you. It was around 6pm.

What exhaust is it on there at the moment? Its hard to get the perfect balance right but Im sure you could try something else if need be?
That inlet definatly needs sorting either way!
This saturday just gone I dont think it was me. But I am regularly up and down the M6 of late. Have been really lazy and taking the 106 to work.

It's a supersprint cat back system. I can live without popping for a good solid engine. At the end of the day an inlet's not the most expensive bit of kit and thats certainly whats causing the issues. Tbh I should have just bought lee's s1 rallye inlet off him when I thought about it..
Certainly looked like the rushmobile didn't check wheels though, it was near the 50mph section, hence why I managed to grab a glimpse of the other side of the road
