Temp gauge query (saxo newbie)
i have a 1.4 Saxo Exclusive.
it doesnt have a Temp gauge, only a temperature warning light.
I bought some dials from a 1.4 West-Coast which does have the temp gauge, however it doesnt appear to be working....
should it work? i mean will the temp gauge rise gradually as intended even though the car never left the factory with a temp gauge?
I'm concearned as i've just done the head gasket and timing belt and i want to be able to see if the car is getting hot... cheers

You need the 2 pin blue temp sender, at the moment your car only has the one. There wiring should be there for it i think but its not garunteed. The light and the gauge are actually two separate sensors stored in one.

ahh right i see what you mean, so i need to buy the correct sender which goes onto the engine side? i presume it's the one located near the Thermostat housing?
Cheers

depends on the year of the saxo, the plugs changed around a fair bit, most if not all the saxo ones were 2 pin ones with either a rounded connector like that or a more square one on the early ones. What year is your car.
