Default Counselling

Righty then Sax-P.....

This isn't a "my life is shit" thread, it's just asking for some information, help and maybe a little support

At the moment, I'm feeling really quite emotional about things. I feel like I've got a lot on my mind / a lot to handle and it's really starting to get to the point where I can't handle it.

I've grown up with a very troubled childhood, especially my mum passing away, things have really hit me hard.

I've grown up to deal with things with a "keep smiling and you'll be alright" attitude.

Like the dude in my avatar... One day, my fucked up smile (and weird nod) won't be there!

But I feel like I need to get some counselling to try and sort me out.

So then...

Has anyone on here ever had counselling or can someone point me in the right direction? I've had a look on Google, but I'd like to get your lots view on it.

So please... Discuss!

Thanks in advance!

It's really hard to explain Danny.

Money, mates, family, past events, my future... My mind is like mush... I feel like I can't take things in anymore, because my mind is full up.

Nothing ever changes in my life and I feel like, especially past events, are always bringing me down.

So hard to explain

He's not taking the piss but the last place I would be asking is Sax-P. Everyone's a heartless cunt at the best of times, let alone when it can affect you.

If you feel the need for it, give it a try.

I wanna help mate but im not in the frame of mind right now. Im probably in the frame of mind you are right now tbh lol

However, each person is different and they deal with things in different ways as we all know. You've probably heard it all before and this isnt another one of them "jus ignore it" type responses that are thoughtless and you know I hate.

You need to work out your way of dealing with things. For me its ALWAYS the future and setting myself goals and targets and also having dreams that keep me motivated and encouraged to do stuff! Think to yourself everything is possible, to be quite honest everything IS possible, you just have to find the way to make them happen..

Basically start with catching yourself up. Catch up with whatever it is on your shoulders, lets start with money, whats the deal with this? Have you got debts, or what?

You've got me on Facebook and my number Danny, so hit me up if you want to and we'll chat!

Yeah, that's a good view to have! My future is to be a superstar DJ tbh... That IS my goal... Just gonna have to try hard for that!

Well money, it's a pain in the ass, but I think I'll be able to get that sorted soon, so we'll leave that for now.

It's all about money control and I'm slowly learning how to do that!

Go to doctors as you can get advice on e NHS. Just be careful they don't do the usual take anti depressants, I've seen a few people just given these on a whim.

*are.

As I said, if you feel you need professional help now, then go get it.

All I know is, that right now, if I lost a parent or my sister that i'd go into complete meltdown and it would fuck me right up for years.

I'm caring, usually I'd say something like man the fuck up to a newbie memeber but I like you Moke. Things get on top of everyone at times, were not made of wood. But before it all gets to much get it all out in the open and talk about it all with a trained professional, even just sit and have a dam good cry the sort of cry when you was little you'd be gasping for air at the end of it. Works wonders. Pm me if you need to talk about stuff

I've had anti-depressants... They're shit!

How would I go about getting advise on the NHS? Online? Going to my doctor?

Probably best to go to local doctor, explain you are not depressed but that due to life's situations you feel you need to talk to someone...

Don't let the, try the use drugs route.

If you want advise NHS direct may be able to help too

That's what happened to me mate... My mum died almost 7 years ago and since I've lost a grandad, auntie and uncle... Oh and a best mate... It really fucks with your head.

I've not been right for years.

That's what I'm thinking of doing mate.. I tell everyone else never to bottle stuff up, but that's what I do... It's hard taking your own advice!

Cheers mate, appreciate that!

I've had counselling Mikey, the one to one type wasn't really for me, dragging things up going on and on about it, at the time, I didn't want to do that, so the just talking to someone kind didn't work for me.....but I had this counselling called EMDR (I think I've got that right) and that worked, well for the main problem.....it would depend what is the root cause of what is getting to you hun tbh.....why don't you start by writing a list of what is bothering you, and write on a scale of 1-5 how badly they affect you and your dealing with everyday life....then tackle each problem one at a time, don't bombard yourself, when you're low and down everything does get on top of you, you just need to give yourself a break, a lil pep talk, and go from there......

Go to your doctors though by all means, one to one counselling may help you, and ask the doctor or counsellor about the EMDR treatment, as it may help you with some of your childhood memories, and dealings, help you to get closure and put a lid on things....I'm always here hun if you want to chat to me, inbox on fb, and I'll give you a hug on 4th Dec meet
