Default handbrake light stays on after ABS removal

hi guys

my vts handbrake light wont turn off. ive disconnected both the brake fluid level sensor and hand brake lever sensor and checked their operation and they work fine. i even connected a empty reservoir i had laying around. still the light stays on. i checked the voltages on both. the handbrake lever voltage is around 0.4v and the reservoir voltage is 12v???? on my 106 the voltage is fairly low in the reservoir.

wires must be crossed somewhere but its hard to trace them back and espicially when the circuit runs thru the clocks

also ABS was completely removed if that has anything to do with it somehow

if anyone has any info please share

If i remember correctly the handbrake lights stay on on saxos if the rear brake pads are getting too low. Might be worth checking

thanks for reply pal.

there are no sensors on any brake pads on the car. was doing some reading after i posted and found one post saying the light also comes on for the ABS being removed but this is only one post and any threads on removing the abs doesnt mention this problem

quick update

dug out the old ABS pump/module and its loom. plugged in the large ans medium sized connectors and the two earths.

the handbrake light is now off!! pressed and depressing the handbrake switch confirms. un plugging either of the above connectors causes the light to stay on.

is there any cheeky bypass for the connectors??
