LOL @ Fezza-st, you know me so well...

rent yes, but its in the centre of derby and on the top floor - so my monthly rent its probably more than your monthly wage, besides i'm 21, i'm saving for a house but if you watch the news you'll realise the average first time buyer is 38, at least in a few years when i can afford a house i've already got my fridge, freezer, cooker etc sorted
cars a '57 plate, but late 57 so its just over 3 years - cant you do maths?
and where'd you pick this information up? i like to see you even get an interview where i work

There should be no replies to this thread in the first place. Its a saxo forum.
Honda ftw anyway
|
Didn't realise people weren't allowed to comment on a general question of a car forum?
"My car cost this...my car cost that...it'll sell for loads blah blah blah"
if it was a guy who was new to the site was saying this people would be slating him yet as gimpo is a regular member he gets backing for some fucked up reason!

Gibbo nobody cares about your car or e36's in general & it's true...you don't shut the fuck up about it (which is good because it's comical).
Stissy, for A LOT of people (me included) life is not about money, maybe for you but a lot of people don't need to have a 9k car a flat and all of this other crap, having to say that and defend just shows naiveness and a lack of understanding.
It reminds me of one of them mugs on TV on some sort of dating show who have such a little personality they have to just talk about their achievements... at 19 I become a director, at 21 I bought shares in mytinydick.com, at 23 I bought my first Ferrari actually thinking people give a shit and will judge, and by going on about this now, you're just proving it.
work to live not vice-versa.

Have to agree. For me life is about the experience rather than the money and status.
If I went on holiday to Monaco, I would talk about my experience there, what its like. I wouldnt be saying it cost me this much, I stayed in a hotel costing this much.
When I moved to spain and worked for Mercedes on an apprenticeship with the opportunity to go and study in Barcelona, I dont tell people how much it cost me I tell people how it was a great experience. Which leads me onto different people wanting different things, as you know as you have said. I see life as too short to live in one place ALL my life and work for one company all my life and have a career.
Why do people push a career so much, yeh you earn more when you are at the top than the bottom. But you can make just as much money doing stuff that isnt a career job. I want to explore the world, get experience in differnt sectors and areas, learn shit. I dont want to be stuck in one place all my life for the sake of a career. Being stuck in one tiny place compared to the whole world isnt for me. Only get one life. Exagerate it. Live on the same street all your life and stay within you city, even for holidays and stuff or move around the world, gain experience of different jobs, communitys people, lifestyles etc! that means more to me than being able to say im in a career job earning so n so much.
Thats my opinion.

@ orang3peel & db_sax
i agree, to an extent, but pushing career is important in my eyes, we're going way off topic here but passing a boarding, or going up a pay bracket is such a good feeling, to know you've worked for it and you can stand around looking at everything you own and know its yours, its that sense - as for living life, i cant agree more, spending everyday with my girlfriend and my friends and to go out every weekend, but its nice to know you're working towards something in your life, and not just a dead end job
dont get me wrong, i'd never chase the money to the point where i was doing something i hated in order to earn a lot more, job satisfaction is important too, its all about that ballance

yeah yeah, if you met me you'd realise i'm nothing like that, i'm proud of what i do but i'm not cocky about it, and i'm really not all that job focused - as long as i have enough money to keep everything going with enough left over for some beers at the weekend and then i'm a happy boy, you've got to enjoy life while you're young right

the most naive and narrow minded person on this site is minigimpo! His car is amazing and better than everyone else's car, he's spent more on his car than anyone else...even those who buy a new car, HIS e36 beemer is the best around, he earns loads more than anyone else, etc etc etc!
I agree with Stissy in some ways

Bora's are nice I will admit. The only problem I have with them is that the little engined ones (under 2litre) are rubbish and very boring...but the faster models are stupid expensive to maintain as my mate had a 2.8 and always had problems!
