how many people on in this thread use one regularly??
ive used them often and they are not the most user friendly on the road but you can get used to them pretty quick. they are also very good fun.
a fwd sequential is normally more expensive than rwd sequentials.

it all boils down to how uch cash you have at the end of the day.
look at bic for an example. ten a couple of our "road legal" cars at work use them. ive done about 1000 miles on road in car with sequential straigt cut and it was a right larf.
if you had a specific budget then its mostly likely not worth it but if i was minted id be buying one lol

well yea if I happened to have 5k just lying around I would lol
but for most cars I don't think I could justify it atm

your thinking of a close ratio gear cluster. BIG difference between those and sequentials.

and that was one of the cheap ones lol..
theres plenty of people who will build you one for 106/saxo etc x-trac/hewland/elite/quaife/sadev but i think its only sadev who have a almost "off the shelf" one and thats around 10k all in. and like deeboy said above they are not suited to high torque engines.

the C2R2 boxes were a great build from PSA-sadev.
the 5 speed was made for cost cutting (for the drivers and teams) Sadly the two gearsets available are not much use for anything but a forrest rally car and to have sadev make different FD etc isnt cheap.
The quaife gearsets also have strength issues, something unusual from quaife yet quite apparent on a few MA gearsets ive been told about

all good and well buying one, need to know how to use it properly though
heel and toe ftw
plus, if you do get one, get a proper lever and watch the push/pull back after you change.
seriously though, it's a waste on a saxo, like someone asking if its possible for a double clutch paddle shift next

I bought some ex peugeot touring car gearboxes for my 205. For kudos points its great. Financially it was pretty stupid as I could have got the car working a long time ago with the straght cut gearbox I had before.

I have just fitted a C2R2 gearbox to my 106 S1 Rallye. Works a treat and ideal for speed events especially when it's mapped for flat shift. It's not a simple conversion but well worth it if competing in rallying, hills or sprints.

As Matt said great for single venue rallying or sprints and hillclimbs but any circuit use and top end isn't there, 111mph in matts case on 15" rims at 7800rpm.
Lovely box though
