Although 100% guilty, non guilty pleas are all this lad knows...

shocking... Terrible story. And of course the guilty party survives and the victim is now not with us... RIP mate. Terrible. Laws fucked in this Country.

How can you plead guilty to careless driving, but not death by dangerous driving? Surely if you're guilty for one, you're guilty for the other.

Careless driving carries a mandatory 3 points with a maximum of 9 and a discretionary ban, while death by dangerous driving carries a 14 year prison term, so the careless driving charge is pretty meaningless in real terms. He's pleaded guilty to it because he'd lose credibility in trying to defend it as the CD charge is totally indefensible. He may also be trying to get the charge of death by dangerous driving reduced to a death by careless driving charge, which would see him go down for between 26 weeks and a maximum 2 years.
Fingers crossed for a result for Gav in January

how can he possibly plead not guilty?
Atleast he is starting to realise his guilt and changed one plea.

One is better then nothing.
Evidence is stacked against him.
Jury will see that, fingers crossed!
