How did you reinforce the floor etc where the fire extinguisher bolts too? Doesn't look all that secure in the pictures.

I just used plate washers and riveted it to the shell, making sure the points were as near to the strengthening correlations as possible. That's all the regs require, so it'll definitely hold

Just thought i'd upload a little bit of stuff for anyone that's interested. i have finished doing the cad designs of my front wing end plates for the formula renault at college.
The wing that they are on is the standard front wing element, not to my design.
This is the pic. The design guides air around and over the wheel to try and minimise turbulence of sending all the air flow around one area of the wheel. It uses an open tunnel area with the walls extending upwards to form the vertical plates.
Please feel free to comment and critisise (if you must lol)
And on the wing
Soon they are being made up in carbon fibre by the college. I will get some pics up when they are complete and on the car. Yay!!!

On another nice dollop of progress today. Sent my harnesses off to demon tweeks to be renewed and got my electrical delivery.
I finished wiring the kill switch. At the battery end i finally got rid of that stupid citroen terminal and joined the positive feed from the switch using ring terminals and bolted them together and then taping over to avoid shorts.
could then finish mounting the dash centre.
Just need to put the sticker on it when i get nearer the end.
And got all the extinguisher cables organised and secured.
I also finished painting the cage, but will get pics up when it's dry and i can remove all the masking

Ok, i finally got the fuel line in today after college. The bulkhead grommet was a bitch but got there in the end.
I would upload pics but it's pissing down outside.
I did run into troubles though.
I got the line in, went to start her and nothing. The immobiliser light came on and i feared the worst. I then realised that the starter wasn't wired into my positive feed, so i got that sorted and that seemed to solve things. The light went away, the pump primed, and still nothing. A minute or so after this i noticed a nice below of smoke rising fro the dashboard!!!! I disconnected the battery and started hunting for the problem.
I discovered that the killswitch main battery feeds were reversed. This basically ment that the ignition was switched off and that the battery was feeding directly into the resistor. The tape surrounding this resistor on the loom had caught light and was what was causing the smoke.
Easy enough right? just switch them over? No!
The dash centre was riveted on so the only access was underneath through a small passage. This was bloody fiddly trying to undo, move and reconnect various wires in little space. Got there in the end though.
Now she lives at last!!!

Thanks,
I got a few things like fan and pump switches to get and wire up. Then get labels for them. Not much else. There's not a lot of interior to work with

Dashed out in the rain to get a few pics
And thge resistor after i had removed all the damaged tape. No damage in sight so all is good
btw the burnt bit is just tape residue, not the resistor.

Fully fitted my seat, which is where it will remain.
The car is now complete except the passenger seat and the harnesses which demon tweeks have been grovelling for forgiveness about on top of the seat issue
