Will have to see how much new pipes are, a rip off i'm guessing.

Just had it running with the new wiring & vacuum pipes, sounds so much smoother and revs much more freely. Just gotta solder the connections and get it all into tubing and the wiring and engine running probs are sorted.

Got some new brakes for it And a few other bits.

My brake setup is now complete:

GTi6 front calipers
Standard rear calipers
Uprated 23.8mm master cylinder(standard is 20.6mm)
Bias valve beaten up and adjusted
Brand new brembo front discs 283mm
Brand new mintex rear discs
Brand new mintex M1155 front pads(rare for gti6)
Brand new mintex rear pads
Brand new goodridge stainless brake hoses
DOT 5.1 brake fluid drain, flush and refill.

Pic of front(need to fit new discs and pads, no point when it's going to sit around getting rusty for a few more weeks)



I had a similar setup on my vts which was awesome, except this is quite a bit lighter and has the M1155s instead of M1144s but then it is quite a bit quicker so will probably need the higher temp pads.

ooh didnt think the 283's were any better than my 266's...

You had 283s? and i've had several sets of 266s, 283s, 4 pots, and i can safely say that for high speed braking(the ring) the 283mm brakes and 4 pots were much better, low speed like llandow the 266 were fine.

alex is there a group buy on them semi slick tyres on ssc? my mate mentioned it getting 4 for £150 but cant see no thread????

yeah had the 283's before i put my eggs on and had to go for 266's, didnt notice much if any difference tbh.

266's with mintex's are fine

Yeah but you drive like a girl po0lean I overheated my gti6's badly half way round the ring on every lap, scary as fuck pelting down a hill at over 100 with a sharp corner at the bottom, with brakes that more or less don't work

Steve nope not that i know of, i got these off a mate who is in time attack so gets them cheap, £240 fitted for a set new, normal price is around £350+ fitted.
