It's a procomp bonnet iirc, the same one that was on rudi(tim)'s car back in the early days, i got it off my mate matt who has put his track car back to standard, the grand price of £250
It's not that light yet, it has a fiberglass frame, but once i've let ryan at it with the grinder it should weigh 3kg max!

ahh i see, they were known for their good quality the procomp stuff
you might need to use 4 bonnet pins if you take the strengthening out of them as they move about like mad.
should look very aggressive on your car, and your car will be very light.

Yeah i will, bills bonnet was hillarious, used to lift 400mm in the middle, his has no strengthening, i'm keeping a little bit around the hinges and enough at the front to keep it in shape, the carbon itself probably only weighs 2kg if that.

I think so, it only weighs 8kg with a skin of fiberglass and a chunky frame. was easy to lift about
not got a target weight, just keep removing it if i don't need it. got no heater system now(no heater blower, no wiring for it, no wiring for heated rear screen) and will bin the matrix when i get round to pulling the dash out to replace it.

I want to, need to find out how to do it first, cos the gel/laquer stuff isn't normal, it's not like painting metal or plastic apparently. And that's for next year anyway. I do wanna get a standard(ish) grille on the go first too.

Was going to say that looked like matt (sworks) old one, looks great. Bill's bonnet was hilarious @ Llandow, think there's some pictures somewhere
Also, is that a fuel filter inside the car? is that technically legal mate?
p.s. standardish grill and painted is definately the way forward me thinks

Yeah ian got near the fuel system, so that too was bodged hahaha. I've got some standard fuel lines on the way so i can reroute them back under the car. tank off job, woofuckinghoo
It is indeed Matt Hunts bonnet, saw his car today, looked sad, it's got the original 03 plate on it now, full interior etc
Bills bonnet @ llandow rocked his car ripped my trousers it was so hardcore, standard seats aren't supportive enough lol Dave G is sending me my bmw photo cd, memories lol

wow, the memories indeed mate. Mistake in buying the bmw? or just you didnt like it?
If you support the tank you can feed the lines down the back and clip them in mate, you have skinny arms like me so should just about be able to reach. Had to put the return in for mine and we didnt have to completely take it off. Still a ballach of a job though...
You have completely refurbed the whole car by the looks of it, cant wait to see at the ring trip. Once my exams are out the way i need to start sorting out things for that, cant wait

Nah not a mistake, i'm confident that if i'd have modded it it would have been awesome, but i'm not a bodywork person and it needed attention, plus i would have spent a good £4k making it awesome. It only had 195 width tyres and was a lot heavier than a saxo, and the open diff made it impossible to put power down in corners, so it was a right handful at llandow, dan followed me for a lap and said he could see me fighting it, i had to balance the throttle through every corner or it went majorly sideways, and having 600kg over the rear wheels, it doesn't half snap when you catch it lol I have been thinking rwd a lot recently, or thinking of swapping this for a 172/182
Remember i did the tank on my vts, changed it for a different one. I was just gonna drop it down enough to undo the plastic straps and take the lines out. This was a 3 plug vtr so the fpr was on the tank, therefore there was no return line from the engine. I'm converting it to full vts fuel line spec.

Pant ripping story made me giggle haha.

When humpty dumpty puts this back together again im in for that promised test-drive

I already fitted the brakes, seem to have banished the fear of grinder, i only got it cos i got metal in my eye once and it took fucking ages to heal
Guess you can do the boot, the cunt keeps falling shut as it's only got one boot strut, and the boot is clearly too heavy need to fill where the rear badges one were too
