I'm not sure how much cylinder head removal will be going on race-side. Maybe if he's winning by a country mile, but is this kind of thing even worth doing?
I'm not an expert, but that 'prohibited' cylinder head actually looks worse to my eyes than the mk1 one. More inlet valve shrouding and greater clearance volume stands out first of all. Probably a little better exhaust valve flow but that's not going to give you much performance. Also the sharp edges around the spark plug make my blood boil but it's not the first time I've seen them so someone with a flow bench somewhere must like them.

There is an easy way of spotting it the black top and early silver are 00-00 port spacing and have a ali throttle body. the later silver top is 0-0-0-0 spacing and the inlet manifold and throttle body are all in one plastic

Also easily visible checking the different castings by lifting the rocker cover, casting stamps and so on

Bargain then. To be honest I wouldn't build a stock hatch car. I'd always buy a car someone has invested way too much.

If it can be id'ed in scrutineering then expect to be disqualified on the spot or be heading for tribunal. Competitors can also pay for your vehicle to be examined
If they think you are cheating. It's very unlikely you will ever be told to remove the whole head circuit side

Not a small job to put back together. I take it its done post race so they can rebuild in workshop.
So. On topic is a new head being sought?
