id count it very slowly! then save/invest it! allow it to grow... then pay off wot ever i owe, then use the rest as a deposite on a house & possibly drop a question to the Mrs!

As for £10K.... I would use some of it to pay for decorating the livingroom in the house we have put in for, then I would use the rest to pay off some of my £28K debt.
