They will tarnish, i used to use poorboys wheel sealent to hol it off for a bit but still need repolishing up every few weeks with a bit of autosol and a loose mop on a drill, or even a polishing ball on the drill
there is zoop sealent that seals polishes surfaces but its quite costly
