i was talking about this with a mate in work.
bike engines and additional extras, are made from much stronger, lighter and all round better materials. hence why they can produce so much power with little CC themself.

i dont quite know the ins and out of it, but the lad i work with is into this whole how to make a block and head, so he was explaining how little things make a big difference on the better bike engines.

by the time it gets to the drive and to the wheels its only adding up to like a 5-8 bhp gain.
crank values mean nothing.

You can only get them down 0-60 to a certain amount after that physics limits you. Things like friction and trying to keep the wheel inthe ground ect we did a full lecture on it at uni was pretty interesting. I'll have a look through my notes.

I've allways fancied either an oil cooled gsxr with about 200 at the hoop or an orginal r1.

Motorsport buddy.

I like the first r1 so much because it came along and gave everyone a bloody nose.
The 2003/4 is my fave shape. With the light moulded into the tail unit. Looks slick.

oh nice, i know a guy in bristol who did that too, and said it was possibly the best thing he could of done!
i never even knew you could do it!

yam just upped the marker when they first released the R1, it bought a whole new meaning to power and control!
just shame they looked gash imo!

it wasnt till, they started looking after the styling they got it right imo!
in 03/04 when they whacked the cans under the seat, rather than up the side!
got the tail light in place...you know it was a right choice, and so did they!

the late 09 and early 10, with the new twin cans under the seat, with the purple and red frames, are just too beautiful imo! and no lens covers on the headlights...drool!

One of my fav bike eve has to be the first gen zx10r absolute lunatic machine. Extreme rake angle makes for twitchy riding and 180hp is about enough.

I don't wanna piss on your fire but take your head out of your arse, never in a month of Sundays would an r6 do 0-60 in under 3 seconds short of a lengthen swing arm or a wheelie bar. Most of these figures are either done on a dyno or prefect condition by a skilled factory rider. Then think about your abilty to ride which I'm guessing is not alot going on what you've writen. So your probably gonna flip it trying to get there.
My cressent tuned k5 gixxer 6 is quick but won't touch a 1000 off the line.

Sorry but your bullshit got on my tits. Rant over.

Either way nice bike.

im not a fan of suzuki
they produce what, 110-115 as standard, and do a standing 0-60 in 3.6-8? which for stock, is quick, yes. what mods have you had done *not that id touch cressent either as ive had bad experiences with them but again, each to their own* your saying you havnt shaved of 0.5 seconds from your acceleration. obviously your "tuning" hasnt done much good!

as for mine
stock figures are 3.3-7. do the math and shave 0.5 off that!

about swing arms, note that i have already said im looking into custom / carbon...
and where did i mention anything about being able to touch a thou?

end of the day, you mention flipping...yeah whats insurance for? you fuck up, you get it sorted, right? anyway, when did i say oh yeah i want it to do in on the road, maybe i want it to have it strapped on a dyno and check it?

either way, pics of said gsxr, as its always nice to see whats going down on other peoples rides
im not a cunt, just everyones allowed to speek
thanks.

fair play, but as i said a 600 will never get near that sort of 0-60 time, even a well riden 1000 will struggle. if i got under 4 on my bike i'd be suprised, and i'm getting 115bhp at the wheel, thats running a powercommander, k&n filter, TRE and a full micron system. I've played with r6's and not ones kept with me. but r6's seem to be the choice of noobs

my toy

iono about the new thous, suzi are claimin that their 2003 will hit 2.6...

anyway, its all claimed specs but they cant say it, if it wont do it, right?

my and my dad both want to go santa pod and do the timed 0-60 and 1/4 miles, but he works away so gotta be when suits him lol.
the only advantage you have over the R, is your power is more mid of the rev range, even i will admit, there it anything THAT impressive attal untill 10k and then thats only front wheel slapping the floor till 14k. so it needs to be screamed!

out of interest where do you get the bike on the RR?
my local tried to charge 180 quid for a power run! and last guy i know to have a bike rolled and tuned by then, he's had nothing but problems with it since!

yea claimed 0-60 times, even the manufactures say claimed. but if you think you can get your bike to do it, then fair play give it your all.

mine was originally RR's at cressent dorset before i bought the bike. there is a place just out aylesbury that do £20 power runs or set ups from £150 i think, i've just got my hands on some akraprovic 1000 headers so that should increase the top end slightly, just needs a good set up.

looks smart dude i love the look of r6's but im more of a street fighter guy,
tail tidy all the way, but be very wary of smaller number plates, the police are really cracking down on it

i agree think that number plate holder / indicator assembly needs to be tucked in a bit more, one of the first things i noticed :|

other than that lovely bike.

They stick squatty little Japanese blokes on to get the specs up, and the Jap press bikes ent the ones you buy in England im afraid.

My r6 got a "claimed" 120bhp @ crank, MCN rr'd it @ 103bhp.

Book 1/4 mile time is 11 flat and I could only manage 11.7 @ 122 really giving it stick and I only weigh a tad over 10 stone.

But very nice bike mate, really love the new r6s, very track focused.
