Been a busy bee this weeked
Footwell sound deadening (this was reallllly stuck down but nothing for my blow torch)
All off now just to turps and get the bits off
Sunroof, arial and rear washer jet all removed
Bonnet seems at least half in weight need to get some new catches and obviously going to put one on each side.
Got the wiring to finish then the spot drill and grinder to get all the unwanted brackets off then once most of inside finished ill get the dash out

You need to get the best shell possible if not all you find youself doing is adding patches which is more and more weight. Also if you have an accident you want a really solid car that will take the impact not made out of rot that will crumble instantly. If i had the money i would get this down the the bare metal and acid dip it all and start completly with a perfect shell.

Yeah very easy mate just undo all the torqs and with a bit if pulling it all comes out. As you can see from the inside shot i have the underneath part that is attached to the roof to grind off and then weld a plate on

I don't know if you noticed but I've removed mine and the inside bits of metal look like they are held on bg a rubbery adhesive stuff that looks like it may be able to be heat gunned and then got rid of that way?
Might damage some roof paint but might work better than cutting it off?

I hope the blowtorch works as that looks the easier option

Soooooo its been an interesting weekend, my bmw e36 drift cR has sold and been collected :/ i will miss it but hey hoo its all for a new project.
Soooo this weekend i have finally finished the boot its been a nightmare !! But all unneeded witing has been taken out !! Next to strip the mechanismt to as little as possible. All the locking wiring and rear screen and washer jet has been taken away.
Ive also taken out all un needed brackets from the seat mechanism etc. i am now stripping the wiring down more and running the wiring a different way after the fromt seats i am running it through where the rear cars went :/ hard fo explain but it will really help neaten everything up
Also got rid of all the horrible yellow tape that you can see i am now using the lighter and better looking shrink tubing
I need to make a couple of plates for the small patches of rust but it should be quiet easy then full weld in cage time !!!

crikey, not seen one rust there!
highlights even more why I don't like the cheaper cup car type cages that go to the rear arches, boot floor and beam mounts far more effective!

Yeah its wierd but hey hooooo it gives me somethin to do ill find how bad it all is once i take apart the back end of the car.
I can weld so its no problem at all this is no rust you should have seen an old project the car is very strong and only that is not a problem at all as long as the front is fine which so far it is

definitely!
with a proper cage even if you roll it and do a proper job of the panels, you can rescue them successfully in most cases, you should see the Gwynnespeed Saxo and the panelwork that has had!

Ohhhhh the joys of wiring i have now skimmed this down as little as possible tonight i have removed all the old interior light wiring and the maze that is seat airbag wiring.
Out with all the un-needed rubbish !!
So all the wiring is trimmed back to the dash, the next stage is dash out to trace it back a bit more and get rid of all the un-needed stuff. Also i have to start removing all the alarm wiring which really will be a ball ache !!
