I'd rather use red diesel than have my car smelling like a Harry Ramsden's to be honest.

A mate did this for a while, then sold all the gear on as it was far too much hassel making the bio diesel to run the car. He was saying you either need to have alot of spare time or produce much bigger batchs that will last for a month or so.

New oil is best, old oil contains chip fat and all sorts of food crap.

If you go to tesco and buy the biggest cooking oil things they have think it works out at around 72p a litre. Just bung it in with some diesel, runs fine, doesnt smell like a burger van either!

oh and the cheap stuff from tesco in the big bottles, come in those bottles that are compressable, so you just put in into the fuel tank filling hole, let it start poring in and give the bottle some compression pressure, and it speeds the process up.

Think im gonna have to start using chip fat oil, estimate with the tank what would you say.

1/4 tank of diesel to 3/4's chip fat oil?
